At the preliminary general constituent assembly of the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine, which took place on September, 25, 2012, the Board members of the Association to be appointed after the state registration in January 2013 were elected.

The General Assembly of the Association — is the supreme governing body, which consists of members of the Association, and makes decisions on its activities. Among the issues to be resolved by the General Assembly are adoption of the Statute and the amendments thereto, election of the Board, definition of the main activities, approval of the budget and reporting (on the proposal of the Board), reorganization and termination of activities, etc. The General Assembly is held once per year.

The Board – key governing body, it is the main executive body of the Association that executes decisions adopted by the General Assembly. The Board is elected once per year, during the General Assembly, by members of the UABio having the right to vote. The Board represents interests of the Association in international organizations, government agencies, as well as in relations with the Ukrainian and foreign legal entities. The Board makes decision on the election of Chairman of the Board, admission of new members to the Association, and approval of experts in the Expert Council. Board members are elected unlimited number of times by the General Assembly in the amount of 6 (5 members and the Chairman of the Board). Board meeting takes place at least once per quarter. The Board may have correspondence meeting (i.e. via e-mail, teleconferences etc.).

Supervisory Board is the main body to control execution of decisions taken by the General Assembly. Members of the Supervisory Board are invited to all meetings of the Board and on behalf of the General Assembly of the Association control main management decisions taken by the Board, in terms of their compliance with goals and objectives established by the Statute of the Association, as well as decisions by the General Assembly. Members of the Supervisory Board shall be elected by the General Assembly in the amount of three for 3-year term, unlimited number of times.

Expert Council— formed in order to provide members of the Association with reliable expertise in various sectors, to prepare analytical papers and proposals for laws, programs, and strategies aimed at development of bioenergy. Structure of the Expert Council foresees approval of one key expert in each sub-sector, as well as expert committees for each area, which consist of the members and are coordinated by key experts in the corresponding direction. Experts of the Council are approved by the Board’s decision.

Audit Commission — the management body of the Association, whose goal is financial control of the organization. Members of the Audit Commission are elected by the General Assembly in the amount of three for 3-year term, unlimited number of times.
