For the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine, May 2025 was filled not only with interesting offline events in Ukraine. Over the past two weeks, UABIO has joined important and large-scale events in Belgium and Hungary.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bioenergy Association of Ukraine was represented at both events by legal expert Anna Pastukh<\/strong>. In addition, the MHP Eco Energy<\/a> <\/strong>team took part in a seminar in Brussels. In particular, Oleksandr Dombrovskyi<\/strong>, President of the company and UABIO Board member, made a presentation<\/p>\n\n\n

We are pleased to share a short summary of these conferences, which demonstrate the important role of UABIO in the development of both the domestic and international bioenergy sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biogas summit in Budapest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On May 23, 2025,<\/strong> the Budapest Biogas Summit<\/a><\/strong> brought together more than 100 companies from 18 countries<\/strong> at the modern MOL campus in Budapest. The event, organized by White Paper Consulting, highlighted the growing momentum of biogas and biomethane development in Central and Eastern Europe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hungary is taking bold steps \u2014 the government announced a new \u20ac99 million support scheme to triple its biogas production by 2030<\/strong>. The main goal is to reach 600 million cubic meters per year<\/strong>, of which 184 million cubic meters will be upgraded to biomethane<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UABIO was represented by <\/a>Anna Pastukh<\/strong>, who presented on “Status of the biogas sector in Ukraine”<\/strong>, \u2014 emphasizing Ukraine\u2019s growing export capacity and regulatory progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The summit addressed key topics: grid injection, financial incentives, EU legislation, and cross-border collaboration<\/strong> \u2014 all crucial for scaling up the biomethane market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result of the conference, it is clear that Central and Eastern Europe is ready to become a biomethane powerhouse. We are convinced that Ukraine has a strategic role to play in this transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Biomethaverse project workshop in Brussels<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On May 14, 2025<\/strong>, our representatives participated in the Biomethaverse <\/a><\/strong>Workshop in Brussels, which brought together leading experts and stakeholders to discuss the development of biomethane and the E-methane Planning Decision Guide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UABIO is proud to have contributed to the key discussions on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
