In 2012 the international programme \u201cCovenant of Mayors\u201d was established in Ukraine. The development of SECAP with setting of CO<sub>2<\/sub>&nbsp;reduction targets till 2020 is the obligatory requirement of programme participants.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The approved SECAPs for Ukrainian cities-participants chosen for brief analysis is presented below<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/uabio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/en.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8636\" width=\"850\" height=\"638\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uabio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/en.jpg 2000w, https:\/\/uabio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/en-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/uabio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/en-1536x1152.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 850px) 100vw, 850px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p> Currently, the programme covers 247 independent signatories (from small villages to the capital) \u2013 there are more than 20 million inhabitants of Ukraine. Participants aim to reduce 12.7 million tons of CO2 by the end of 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/uabio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Znimok-ekrana-o-09.19.53.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8638\" width=\"980\" height=\"581\" srcset=\"https:\/\/uabio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Znimok-ekrana-o-09.19.53.png 1978w, https:\/\/uabio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Znimok-ekrana-o-09.19.53-768x455.png 768w, https:\/\/uabio.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Znimok-ekrana-o-09.19.53-1536x910.png 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Participants can expand their targets by determining the share of renewable energy in the system and the level of implementation of energy efficiency measures. In addition, some cities did not limit themselves to 2020 and approved SECAP by 2030. There are already those who plan to reach 100% RES by 2050.
