In 2024, the share of\u00a0renewable energy sources\u00a0in transport reached\u00a011.2%<\/strong>\u00a0at the EU level. When the time series began in 2004, this share stood at 1.4%.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2024 share was 17.8 pp lower than the 29% target for 2030 on the use of energy from renewable sources in transport.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Distribution by country<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sweden<\/strong>\u00a0was the EU country with the highest share of renewables in transport (26.4%), followed by\u00a0Finland<\/strong>\u00a0(20.3%) and\u00a0the Netherlands<\/strong>\u00a0(19.7%).<\/p>\n\n\n

By contrast, the lowest shares were registered in\u00a0Croatia<\/strong>\u00a0(0.9%),\u00a0Greece<\/strong>\u00a0(3.9%) and\u00a0Czechia<\/strong>\u00a0(5.7%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
