For example, Nippon Cargo Airlines already uses SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel). Japanese international airline Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA) has used sustainable aviation fuel produced by Neste for the first time on several cargo flights from Amsterdam (Schiphol (AMS)) in November and December 2022.

Nippon Cargo Airlines starts using SAF

SAF is a key element in achieving global aviation emission reduction targets. Neste is the leading producer of SAF in the world. NCA plans to expand cooperation with Neste and increase the number of flights with SAF.

According to Neste, its SAF reduces greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80 percent over the fuel’s life cycle compared to using fossil jet fuel when used in neat form and calculated with established life cycle assessment (LCA) methodologies, such as Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) methodology.

We look forward to more such news in the new year.
