We invite you to attend the BIOMAPE project webinar for a practical discussion on the development of biomethane registries, certificate management, market development and cross-border integration.

The event will take place next week and will focus on how effective certificate management and national registries can help realise the full potential of the European biomethane market.

  • Date: 21 October 2026
  • Time: 09:30–12:00 (CET), 10:30–13:00 (Kyiv time)
  • Working language: English
  • Format: online

You must register to take part in the event. Please register via this link: https://2fbn5i.share-eu1.hsforms.com/2uLSlv8jpTXe-ci1qaXlDIQ. Please note: the webinar will be held in English; no simultaneous interpretation will be provided.

At the heart of this webinar is the presentation of the newly published report D2.1 – Updated Guidelines for Establishing National Biomethane Registries for Certificate Management. Based on a comprehensive mapping of certificate and registry systems across 18 European countries, the report provides implementation-oriented guidance on registry design, governance and system architecture to enable European market entry for biomethane and target compliance in all gas market segments.

Building National Biomethane Registries for European Integration: a BIOMAPE project webinar

Webinar details

The webinar will bring together national authorities and key stakeholders from the BIOMAPE focus countries (Hungary, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine) to share:

  • National progress and practical approaches to registry development.
  • Key challenges and lessons learned.
  • Insights into certificate management and cross-border trade.
  • Best practices and potential pathways towards greater European market integration.
  • Key findings from the newly published D2.1 – Updated Guidelines for Establishing National Biomethane Registries for Certificate Management.

Ukraine will be represented at the event by Anna Pastukh, a legal expert at UABIO.

The discussion will provide an opportunity to exchange experiences, identify common challenges and explore the next steps needed to support a more connected and effective European biomethane market.

We recommend that everyone involved in the biomethane sector in Ukraine – producers, traders, gas infrastructure operators, government representatives and experts – join the webinar, as the creation of a national register is one of the key prerequisites for the export of Ukrainian biomethane to the EU.

We look forward to seeing you at the event!
