“No dictator and no country will be able to block out the sun for us, restrict the wind, or take away Ukraine’s right to produce renewable energy using bioenergy technologies”, emphasizes Oleksandr Dombrovskyi, Chairman of the Board of Global 100 RE Ukraine and a member of the Board of UABIO.

On April 17, the International Institute of Management (MIM-Kyiv) hosted an awards ceremony honoring the best green transformation projects of 2025.

The event brought together key players in Ukraine’s energy transition. It serves as a platform to recognize the most impactful projects of 2025 and the leaders shaping a new energy reality: one that is sustainable, decentralized, and climate-neutral.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of government agencies, leading international institutions, Ukrainian industry associations, local communities, water utilities, universities, manufacturing companies, the banking sector, and donor initiatives. Among the guests were also representatives of the embassies of several European countries.

Opening remarks

Oleksandr Dombrovskyi, Chairman of the Board of Global 100 RE Ukraine: Understanding green, clean technologies is what separates yesterday from tomorrow. I would like to thank all the associations for the many years we have spent together. We are going through difficult times, but together we have proven that green technologies are technologies for the development and protection of our country. Even under the extremely difficult conditions of war, they enable us to defend our country.

Олександр Домбровський, голова правління Global 100 RE Ukraine

Іryna Tykhomyrova, President of the International Institute of Management: I’m glad this event is taking place at a business school, because green energy is all about the philosophy of efficiency and responsibility. And that’s exactly what a business school teaches. I congratulate the winners who are receiving these important awards today.

Artem Rybchenko, Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine: I would like to sincerely thank our international partners for their support. For standing firmly by Ukraine’s side, especially during these very difficult times for our country. As you well know, this has been one of the harshest winters in the last four years — both due to weather conditions and the enemy’s attacks on the energy sector and critical infrastructure. Our government is transparent and open to your proposals. We are doing everything we can to join the European Union as soon as possible.

Anna Zamazeeva, Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine: When the issue with the Strait of Hormuz arose, everyone who was talking back in January about purchasing diesel generators is now talking about something else. They are talking about the need to create the best conditions and stimulate the market, and to implement energy-efficient and energy-saving measures. I would like to express my sincere gratitude and respect to those people who believe in Ukraine today and continue to build new energy capacity.

Gennadiy Chyzhykov, President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry: You’re doing a great job and setting an example for others! Let’s move forward together. Toward green energy and our shared victory.

Georgii Geletukha, Chairman of the Board of the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine, also attended the event and presented an award to one of the winning projects in the field of bioenergy. As a full member of Global 100 RE Ukraine, UABIO served as one of the co-organizers of the award.
