The Biomethaverse project news: meeting in Uppsala
Last week, 22 partners of the #Biomethaverse project met in Uppsala, Sweden, to discuss the status of innovative research and pilot technologies to increase biomethane production in Europe.
The Bioenergy Association of Ukraine as a project participant took part in the meetings together with another participant from Ukraine – our partner and member of the Association, the well-known company “MHP Eco Energy”.
The meeting of leadership teams from 9 European countries, one of which is Ukraine, aimed to discuss innovative technologies for the integration of biomethane production and green hydrogen technologies.
MHP Vice-President Oleksandr Dombrovskyi and Director of MHP Eco Energy Ivan Traksler represented their company offline.
UABIO Head of the Board Georgii Geletukha and member of the expert council Yurii Matveev participated online. Yurii Matveev presented the current situation of legislative support for the production and use of biomethane in his speech.

During the event, participants exchanged of research results, and a discussion of the project status was held.
It is interesting that to get around the city, project partners took one of the many city buses powered by biogas.
The meeting in Uppsala was the second of ten planned meetings throughout the project. For the next 4 more years an important research and cooperation of partners will create the basis of technologies for diversifying biomethane production in Europe, reducing production costs and promoting the introduction of biomethane technologies.
In fact, a laboratory has been built for research in Ukraine on the basis of MHP Eco Energy company, and the first studies have begun. All activities within the project comply with the provisions of the RED 2 Directive, as well as the REPower EU plan.
The five-year BIOMETHAVERSE project is financed by the European Union within the Horizon Europe programme.
