UABIO activities in 2025: annual report
We are pleased to share with you a detailed report on the activities of the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine for 2025. This document highlights our key achievements in the development of the industry, the implementation of innovative technologies, and the advocacy of legislative changes necessary for Ukraine’s energy independence.
Our community is growing! Over the past year, 19 new members have joined us: 17 companies and 2 individuals. We would like to thank our 76 Association members for their trust and active contribution to our common cause! We continue to work to make bioenergy the foundation for sustainable recovery and a ‘green’ transition for our country.

Legislation and advocacy
In 2025, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and UABIO. This event marked the beginning of active cooperation in the field of bioenergy, in particular to promote the development of biogas and biomethane production and use in the agricultural sector, as well as to strengthen Ukraine’s bioenergy sector.
In particular, in 2025, the Coordinating Council on the Development of Agricultural Bioenergy Potential was established. Since then, UABIO has been actively participating in regular meetings of the Council.
Key Achievements and Case Studies 2025:
- Over 50 advocacy letters submitted to public authorities.
- Registration of draft laws in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and submission of proposals thereto.
- Export of the first batch of Ukrainian-produced biomethane to Europe via pipeline transportation.
- Five biomethane plants operating in Ukraine.
Events of 2025
The conference “Biomethane in Ukraine: Opportunities and Development” is the event of the year 2025!
During the conference, thececonomic feasibility and financingcmodels of biomethane projects, environmental benefits and sustainability aspects, as well as challenges and opportunities for the growth of the biomethane sector in Ukraine were highlighted. Thematic case studies of successful biomethane production projects in Ukraine were presented to demonstrate the potential of this sector.
In total, in 2025, our team conducted a training course entitled “Biomethane Production worldwide. Development of Biomethane Production in Ukraine”, organized more than 15 events during the year, and participated in more than 25 events (including a number of international events in European countries).
Communications and outreach
UABIO continuously works to enhance the effectiveness of communication, delivering timely and reliable information in the field of bioenergy. In 2025, we expanded our social media presence. We now actively manage Instagram and Linkedin, and the number of valuable and informative videos on our YouTube channel has increased significantly.
Furthermore, by the end of 2025, the total number of views of our content on Facebook and Instagram exceeded 1 million!
The Bioenergy Association of Ukraine expresses its sincere gratitude to each member of the Association, partners, and experts for making this year a year of real change. Every cubic meter of Ukrainian biomethane and every legislative initiative is our joint step towards a sustainable future. We will continue to work towards scaling up Ukraine’s energy independence!
