The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) presented an infographic with three different scenarios for the future of the planet depending on human actions to adapt and mitigate the effects of climate change, that described in the Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5 ° C (2018):

  1. best case scenario with early, effective action;
  2. mid-case scenario with delayed, decisive action;
  3. worst case scenario with late, uncoordinated action.

How to stop global warming?

To stop global warming, it is necessary to stop the formation of CO2 emissions due to human activities, or as an alternative, we can consider the disposal of newly formed greenhouse gas emissions through various measures. Depending on the possible response of humanity to climate change after 2020, these scenarios lead to different futures.
