Opportunities for harvesting by-products of grain corn for energy production in Ukraine
The seventh edition of the monthly practical journal “Ecology of the Enterprise” published an article of UABio experts Semen Dragnev, Tetiana Zhelyezna and Georgiy Geletukha “Opportunities for harvesting by-products of grain corn for energy production in Ukraine”.
By biomass volumes, corn is the most productive of all grain crop. While in Ukraine, only part of it, namely grain, is sold as a commercial product. However, the fuel properties of byproducts of corn and properties of ash, technologies, and equipment for the harvesting of byproducts of corn for grain makes it quite a possible resource for energy production.
