Electricity from the field and the forest. How to make bioenergy a profitable business
The Renewable Energy Sector expects significant changes related to the likely introduction of auctions for solar (more than 10 MW) and wind (more than 20 MW) power plants from 2020. However, these changes do not apply to the biomass and biogas electricity generation sector, which also needs legislative changes.
The installed capacity of biomass and biogas plants in Ukraine is the smallest in comparison with other sector objects: biomass – 43.8 MW, biogas – 40.6 MW, while SES – 841.4 MW, WPP – 512, 2 MW.
