Thus, the Dentons company, in particular the partner Maksym Sysoiev, who supervises the project, is currently advising YM LIQUID GAS LLC on the production of bio-LNG in Ukraine.

In particular, the following issues:

  • the regulatory aspects of the production of bio-LNG in Ukraine;
  • the requirements of its export to the European Union;
  • customs formalities and potential changes to Ukrainian legislation to improve the legal environment for the implementation of bio-LNG projects.

YM Liquid Gas is a pioneer in Bio-LNG production in Ukraine. Bio-LNG is an alternative to fossil fuels, made by converting chicken manure and agricultural waste into biomethane. It offers a cleaner and eco-friendly fuel alternative for the heavy-duty transportation sector, particularly for large trucks.  The company plans to produce 20 tons of Bio-LNG daily in 2024 and aims to double the production in 2025.

We will remind you that Maksym Sysoiev is a UABIO member of the board, an active and highly qualified specialist in our team, who helps other members to understand the legal aspects of supporting bioenergy projects.

And on March 20, Law No. 9456 was adopted. It amended the Customs Code of Ukraine regarding the customs clearance of biomethane. With this step, we have overcome a critical barrier on the way to exporting biomethane!
