Training Course on the Subject of Bioenergy for Teachers/Researchers of Higher Education Institutions

We are pleased to announce that we are opening registration for the bioenergy training course for teachers/researchers of higher education institutions, which will take place on May 15-29, 2024 within the framework of the EBRD/GEF project “Knowledge Management Program for the Development of Sustainable Bioenergy”.

Scientific and pedagogical workers of higher education institutions are the target audience of this course, but it is open to everyone who wants to expand their knowledge in the field of bioenergy.

Participate

Participation in the training is FREE, but registration is required.

If you would like to participate in this training, please complete the following steps:

Course structure

The training course includes 10 lectures of 45 minutes each. After each lecture, the students’ knowledge will be tested, it will be necessary to answer two questions within the lecture’s content.

Certificate

At the end of the course, there will be a final test for the participants, based on the results of which certificates will be issued for completing this training course. Participants who have listened to at least 8 lectures and correctly answered more than 2/3 of the questions of the final test receive a certificate.

Based on the results of the training course, participants will be sent a questionnaire to receive feedback. Feedback will be analyzed and used to improve course materials.

1. The current state and prospects for the development of bioenergy in Ukraine and in the world. 
2. Technologies and equipment for the production of thermal energy from biomass. 
3. Technologies and equipment for the production of electricity and the combined production of heat and electricity from biomass. 
4. Feasibility study of projects for the production of thermal and electrical energy from biomass. 
5. Technologies and equipment for biogas production.
6. Biogas enrichment technologies.
7. Feasibility studies of biogas/biomethane production projects.
8. Cultivation of energy plants.
9. Technologies and equipment for the production of pellets and briquettes from biomass 
10. Storage of biomass intended for energy use.

The course will also be useful for scientific and pedagogical workers of higher education institutions who train or plan to train specialists whose work is related to the bioenergy sector.

About the training course

The spread of renewable energy sources requires a deep understanding of bioenergy processes. Due to global energy challenges such as climate change and energy security, there is a need for new approaches to solving energy problems. That is why this course was developed.

The goal of this training course for faculty/researchers is to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of the basic concepts, principles, and methods related to bioenergy.

The course is aimed at providing participants not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical skills necessary for conducting research in the field of bioenergy, developing new methods and technologies in this area, as well as introducing them to the educational process.

Furthermore, the course aims to create a conducive environment for exchanging experiences and ideas between participants to stimulate collective learning and collaboration in developing new ideas and research directions in bioenergy.
