Welcome to the UABIO team a new member – the company “CALIPSO BIOGAS”, which is an asset of the CALIPSO group of companies.
The CALIPSO Group of Companies, have been operating in the agricultural sector for over 10 years and have more than 12,000 hectares of land in three regions of Ukraine: Chernihiv, Sumy, and Poltava.
The international company builds its activities on the basis of a synergy of agriculture, renewable energy sources, and human resources. CALIPSO BIOGAS, a CALIPSO asset created in 2019, represents the field of renewable energy.
The direction of renewable energy is fundamentally important for us, because from the standpoint of sustainable development it protects the environment, produces “green” energy and organic fertilizers, and also creates new opportunities for the development of the communities of our presence.

Company activity
Today, CALIPSO BIOGAS is already completing the construction of a 3 MW biogas complex, which is being built on 2 hectares of land in the Chernihiv region.
About the project
The activity of the complex will be provided by two cogeneration units of leading German and Dutch producers. Given the company’s capacity, the geographical location of the facility, and the favorable climatic conditions of the region of presence in the corn region, the raw material for biogas production will be corn silage. In addition to electricity, the complex will produce organic fertilizers (digestate).
In the future, the company is considering the possibility of building a similar biogas complex in Sumy region.
