Ukraine has joined to ENTSO-E

Thus, the Ukrainian energy system became part of the European one. Ukraine is fully integrated with the European market. The decision was backed by EU members, as well as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson.

What does it provide?

  • Ukrainian producers will be able to export electricity at higher prices than domestically, but imports may also be more expensive than domestic prices.
  • Electricity flows between Ukraine on the one hand and belarus and russia on the other will be impossible.

It will be recalled that due to the russian agression, Ukraine appealed to the energy ministers of European countries to speed up the decision to join the Ukrainian energy system to ENTSO-E. As a result, the European Commission and the European Network of Transmission System Operators have agreed to begin the process of Ukraine’s emergency accession to the EU’s network.

Ukraine has invested more than 600 million euros in the modernization of the energy system to join ENTSO-E.
